There’s the traditional Dutch pancake; the French have their crêpes; Mexico is famous for its wraps, and Russian blini is another pancake celebrity. We’re focussing on the classic American pancake today, although you are free to experiment with your own particular brand of CBD pancakes. Recipe for about 7 American CBD Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 120g flour;
  • 8g baking powder;
  • ½ tbsp. baking soda;
  • 1 tsp. sugar;
  • 1 egg;
  • 15g butter;
  • 150ml buttermilk;
  • Pinch of salt;
  • 4 drops of CBD Oil

Preparations

Put the butter in a bowl and melt it in the microwave; don’t overdo it and cook the butter though! Now, add all ingredients in a big mixing bowl and mix them well. Depending on your local pancake traditions, the batter for these American CBD pancakes may be a bit thicker than you’re used to. Place a frying pan on the stove and heat butter or cooking oil. Wait until the pan is sizzling hoy and use a ladle to add the batter. You could of course try to pour the batter straight from the bowl, but you may end up with more pancake batter around the kitchen than in your pancakes if you’re not careful.

Your typical American pancake is smaller than the average wrap, crêpe, or Dutch pancake. Ideally, they should be about the same diameter as a breakfast plate; six inches or 15cm is perfect. Once on the stove, the batter of your CBD pancakes ought to rise slightly. This causes the typical fluffy texture that made American pancakes a global hit. It;s due to the boaking soda and the buttermilk in this recipe. Watch for bubbles on the pancake’s surface: they are your sign that it’s time to flip the pancake over.

Once one side is done, flip the pancake and briefly bake the remaining side. Aim for that perfect golden-brown colour. Remove the pancake from the frying pan and make a neat little stack on an extra plate you have waiting. Adding fresh pancakes on top will help keep the bottom of the pile warm. Add new oil or butter if needed to prevent your next pancake from burning.
